SP Energy Networks hopes to build a major new substation south of Lauder. Consultation events are:
Monday 8th June 7pm Q&A with Lauderdale Community Council at Lauder Primary School
Tuesday 9th June 3-7pm at Lauder Public Hall
Wednesday 10th June at 3-7pm at Blainslie Village Hall
The substation would be to connect wind turbines, battery storage and solar farms across Lauderdale and the Borders. These would help England reach its ‘renewable’ energy targets.
Only two out of six powerline connections are included in SPEN’s consultation materials.
