Lauderdale Preservation Group exists to:
- preserve the quiet, rural character and environment of Lauderdale;
- to protect amenity of residents;
- to oppose construction of damaging, large-scale energy projects;
- to encourage sympathetic, economically viable renewable projects.

Established many years ago by several residents concerned at the destruction of Lauderdale’s environment through inappropriate windfarm developments, the Lauderdale Preservation Group has undertaken notable, successful work in opposing such schemes.
The group is being given fresh impetus following recent announcements by SP Energy Networks, ABO Energy, Galileo and others who plan to construct renewable energy plants and associated infrastructure on a vast scale across our Royal and Ancient Burgh, and the Scottish Borders more widely. A new committee has been formed to take the group forward in what will be a challenging few years ahead.
The not-for-profit organisation has a simple set of aims and will be a conduit for information on developments that are set to have a dramatic impact on our community, whether or not, as individuals, we are in favour of them.
