The devastation facing Lauderdale is driven by energy policies cooked up at Westminster and Holyrood, which may be noble in their aspirations, but are horrifically ill-conceived from a practical point of view. The systems being developed are creating the most expensive energy prices in the developed world. LPG is all for renewables forming part of the UK’s energy production mix, but only if it developed with a sound strategy for both the environment and bill-payers.
While LPG members do their best to articulate some of the governmental failings, there are far more erudite, well-informed and compelling people out there including Professor Sir Dieter Helm, David Turver and Dr Bjorn Lomborg – just three that LPG recommends listening to.
Grab a nice cuppa, click on the links in their names and have a read/listen to some startling arguments as to why Britain and the wider world has some worrying years ahead unless there is a change in course of energy policies.
